    Are you looking for something good to read? Is your list of recommended books so long you just don’t know where to start? If you’re like the rest of us, you tend to read the same authors and styles over and over again. So come to the Hingham Public Library on Saturday February 25th at 11 am to get a few new ideas through our annual discussion of some of the great books of 2016! Peter Thornell, Collection Development Librarian and Readers’ Advisor, will present numerous titles from several different genres of both fiction and non-fiction. Those attending are always welcome to share their thoughts on their own list of “must read” titles. Refreshments will be available.     Hoopla is the Library’s newest service for borrowing digital movies, music, and audiobooks. Hoopla can be used on a computer, Kindle Fire, as well as most Android and iOS devices. In this class you will set up your hoopla account and learn how to search their catalog and borrow materials. Please bring your library card to class. You are welcome to use our computers, or to bring the device you plan to use. Note: Hoopla is only available to Hingham cardholders. Drop-in Event.

  4. Read to Luke! - a certified therapy dog

    Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence as well as self-esteem. Boo, Dash and Luke are certified reading and therapy dogs as well as wonderful listeners! Dash is a Great Dane, Boo is a Shih Tzu and Luke is a Goldendoodle.
