Afternoon with the Author: Eamon Earls

Twisted Sisters book cover

Saturday, July 21 at 2:00 -- Please join us for this Afternoon with the Author program as author and historian Eamon McCarthy Earls discusses his book Twisted Sisters: How Four Superstorms Forever Changed the Northeast in 1954 & 1955, the story of four of the worst hurricanes to ever hit Massachusetts.

In 1955, the Mass coastline was hammered by Hurricane Connie and Hurricane Diane - two storms whose impact was made worse by the short time frame in which they struck. The back to back impact of the sister storms recalled a similar situation only 12 months earlier when Hurricanes Carol and Edna brought similar destruction to Massachusetts in 1954. Come hear Eamon Earls tell the story of these four incredible and devastating storms. A project that started through family memories is now a warning of future destruction.
