Contactless Holds Pickup and Return of Library Materials Services

Library Logo

We are pleased to announce that the Library offers contactless holds pickup and return services while the building remains closed to the public to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Here are the details about these services:

Laptop GraphicPlace Holds – log on to your library account online www.hinghamlibrary.org or call us at 781-741-1405 x0 to place holds on items from our collections. Items available at other libraries will be available for holds within the next few weeks when inter-library loaning service resumes.

If you have any items that were on hold prior to our closure in March, we will contact you after July 6 to arrange for pickup or cancellation of these items.
Phone GraphicGet Notified – we will call you to let you know when your library materials are available and ready for pickup.
Calendar GraphicChoose a Pickup Date – let us know what day you will come in to pickup your holds and we’ll have them ready and waiting for you, anytime between 9am – 5pm Monday through Thursday and Saturday. You’ll have one week to come in to pickup holds after being notified.
Books GraphicPick Up Library Materials – your holds will be available for you to pick up in the vestibule of the outer main entrance doors to the Library anytime between 9am and 5pm on the day you choose. Items will be already checked out to you and placed in a bag with your name on it. Only one person at a time will be allowed to enter the vestibule; if there is a wait to enter, stand on the designated social distancing lines marked on the outside walkway.
Bookdrop GraphicReturn in Bookdrop – when you’re done with your library materials, return them in our outside bookdrops. All returned items will be quarantined for 3 days prior to being checked in, and no overdue fines will accrue at this time. Due to limited space, do not return donated books or anything other than library owned materials in the bookdrops.
