Audio Book Downloads

Downloadable audiobooks are provided through the Old Colony Library Network's Overdrive Digital Library Collection. Browse, checkout, and download digital audiobooks anytime of day from anywhere in the world. Your Hingham Public Library or other Old Colony Library Network member library card and PIN are needed to complete the checkout process.

You also must download and perform a one-time installation of the Overdrive Media Console software to use the service.

Using the OCLN is easy! If you need help, here's a quick guided tour below created by OverDrive, the company that provides downloadable service for us and many other libraries. The guide walks you through the basics, from getting started to downloading to burning to a CD. In just a few minutes, even the newest user can be enjoying a downloaded title.

As the guide is not library specific, there are a few things in it which do not apply to the OCLN:

You may have a maximum of 2 titles checked out from the Digital Library.

Downloaded titles are checked out for 7 days and are automatically returned to the library.

OCLN does not currently offer video downloads (it may be offered in the future).
