Need Help?
The following handouts, created by reference librarian Peter Thornell, will take you step-by-step through the process of downloading the necessary software and then searching for downloadable books in the respective formats using an iPod and MP3 player for eAudio, and a Nook or E-Reader for eBooks.
A downloadable media compatibility chart
For anyone new to these formats, eAudio is a form of audiobook you can download through our website straight to your personal computer and then transfer to a portable device like an iPod, MP3 player, or SmartPhone. An eBook is an electronic version of a book you can download through our website and read on a device like the Barnes & Noble Nook or the Sony E-Reader. If you'd like more information, please visit Peter at the Reference Desk, call 781-741-1405 x2650 or email hiref@ocln.org.
For additional assistance please visit Overdrive's Quick Start Guide and their Digital Media Guided Tour. Or use their new 'My Help' available on OCLN's Overdrive homepage, which will customize instructions specifically for your device.
