- To download Adobe eBooks on your computer, you need Adobe® Digital Editions.
- To download Adobe eBooks on your Android or iOS4 device (iPhone®/iPodtouch®/iPad®) you need OverDrive Media Console v2.
- To download Kindle books you need a Kindle device or Kindle app available from Amazon.
Looking for more EPUB titles? Consider one of more than 15,000 free public domain titles! These titles never expire and don’t count against your library checkout limit! Search the collection of public domain eBooks.
The Hingham Public Library also offers additional copies of popular titles and has added new titles specifically for our community through the Overdrive Advantage program.
Our Advantage collection, only visible and accessible to Hingham users, requires you to sign into Overdrive with your Hingham Library card. This is the key to getting your Advantage!

Downloadable audiobooks are provided through the Old Colony Library Network's Overdrive Digital Library Collection. Browse, checkout, and download digital audiobooks anytime of day from anywhere in the world. Your Hingham Public Library or other Old Colony Library Network member library card and PIN are needed to complete the checkout process.
You must also download and perform a one-time installation of the free Overdrive Media Console software to use the service.
Did you know you can easily access the Boston Public Library's large collection of downloadable audio books? All you need is a Boston Public Library eCard. Apply online for an eCard.
The Massachusetts Library System has created a new catalog of eBooks and historical documents, and the Hingham Public Library is pleased to offer this new catalog! There are three vendors providing content for this collection, and they are Baker & Taylor – one of the largest distributors of books and media in the country; Biblioboard – a new company that curates digital content of all kinds from all around the world; and EBL - a company that focuses on academic and research titles.
There are apps for each of these providers, and the content from Baker & Taylor's Axis 360 and EBL can be accessed on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, while the content from Biblioboard can be accessed on your computer or tablet, but not a smartphone.

Zinio is here! Zinio from the Old Colony Library Network brings free magazines to your computer or web enabled device! Sign up for Zinio Magazines or view our detailed set-up instructions. (You will need a current Hingham Public Library card to sign up.)
When you want to select additional magazines for your zinio account, visit the library's website and click on the zinio button to access the Library subscriptions. More titles will be added throughout the year and we welcome your suggestions for additional purchases. For more information check out the Zinio User Guide.

For anyone new to these formats, an eBook is an electronic version of a book you can download through our website and read on devices such as a Kindle, Nook, iPad, Smartphone, or a computer. eAudio is an audiobook you can download through our website to your Smartphone or computer, from which you can transfer the file to a portable device like an iPod or MP3 player.
