  3. READ TO Boo! - a therapy dog, suitable for ages 5+, registration

    READ TO BOO!- a therapy dog | Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence as well as self-esteem. Keep your reading skills sharp by reading to BOO, an adorable Shih Tzu. He is a certified reading and therapy dog. He will available to listen for one hour, sessions are for 15 minutes and begin at 10:30 AM. BOO's listening dates for October are Oct. 13, 20, and 27. *Please call the Children’s Department at 781-741-1405, ext.1403 to register. Suitable for kids age 5 and up.

  2. Careers in Marine Animal Training: A Presentation for Teens

    Learn all about what it's like to be a marine mammal trainer and how you can get involved in that field today!

    Kim Cummings, from the New England Aquarium, has worked as a marine mammal trainer for over 15 years! In her presentation she will discuss her background, the reasons for animal training, the methods of training, and a day in the life of a trainer.

    She will also touch on other careers associated with animal training like education, research, and conservation, and share resources to learn more about the animal care field, and ideas for how teens can get involved at the aquarium, as well as the first steps to take to become an animal trainer.
