    Children and their caregivers will listen to entertaining books, sing songs and make a fun and simple craft. This imaginative Storytime quietly builds language skills and fosters literacy proficiency, and each week's craft encourages preschool motor skill development.

    This storytime session begins Monday, May 1 and runs through Monday, June 12.

    Space in this event is limited, and registration has filled. Our Tuesday and Wednesday storytimes do not require registration and all ages are welcome.

  5. A Tooth Fairy Storytime with Miss Claire

    Please join us for a Tooth Fairy Storytime. Claire Reilly, aka “The Tooth Fairy” will be reading fun stories about teeth at this unique Storytime. Miss Claire is a dental hygienist from Dentistry for Children in South Weymouth. She will teach the children about brushing and flossing their teeth and she will distribute goodie bags with a toothbrush for each child. Program is suitable for toddlers and preschoolers.

  6. Read-to-a-Dog: Rosie (a Golden Retriever) and her partner Barbara are our listeners today | Ages 5+

    Our Read to a Dog program provides a supportive environment to practice reading! Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence and self-esteem. Our canine friends are all wonderful, patient listeners who are looking forward to reading with you!

    Our listening teams are at the Library on Saturday mornings from 10:30 -11:30 in the Children's Department. Reading sessions last 15 minutes and are for children ages 5 and up.

    To register for a session, please call the Children's Department at 781-741-1405 ext. 1403. We hope you can join us!

    Join the Hingham Library in welcoming author Jerry Pallotta for a presentation and signing event!

    Jerry Pallotta is an award-winning author of children's books. He combines interesting facts, detailed research, humor, and realistic illustrations . He has written more than 100 children's books over the past 35 years. He is particularly known for his best-selling kid-favorite "Who Would Win" series.

    This event will be held in person at the Library and registration is required. Registration will open on Tuesday, June 20 at 10:00am.

    Books will be available for purchase at the event from Buttonwood Books & Toys.
