  2. Hingham Chess Club: Advanced Lessons & Open Play

    November 30, 2017, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Whiton Room

    Advanced Lessons are drop-in and focus on strategy and board development; applying more advanced chess terminology; and preparing for competition. All ages are welcome, but HCC recommends a minimum age of six years old, and the ability to work independently. All chess lessons at Hingham Public Library are free. To help offset the costs of funding the program, a suggested donation of $10 per lesson is gratefully accepted by Hingham Chess Club, yet not required. Through their partnership with the Hingham Public Library, HCC is also the recipient of a grant generously provided by the Harold and Avis Goldstein Trust.

  3. Evening with the Author: Anna Byrne presents A Widow's Guide

    Anna Byrne, a local trust and estates attorney, will discuss her book A Widow's Guide: Your Legal and Financial Guide to Surviving the First Year. Since becoming a widow herself almost 20 years ago, Byrne has sought to help women of all ages navigate the difficult and unexpected days and years that follow the loss of a spouse. Her book is a clear and compassionate guide to the process of moving forward.
