    May 3, 2018, 7:00 PM - 8:45 PM @ Whiton Room

Bruce Kennett has recently published W. A. Dwiggins: A Life in Design, the first comprehensive biography of the artist. Dwiggins lived in Hingham from 1904 until his death in 1956 and is internationally famed not only as a designer of books and typefaces, but also as a puppeteer and marionette designer. Kennett has been researching, writing, and photographing for the project since 2003; he also designed the book, which has 496 pages and more than 1200 illustrations. His slide presentation will provide an overview of Dwiggins’s richly varied life and accomplishments, and will include projects that Dwiggins made for friends and neighbors in Hingham. The library is extremely proud to bring Mr. Kennett's work to your attention, as W.A. Dwiggins is an important part of Hingham history. Don't miss this special event!
