What Can I Borrow?

What Can I Borrow at the LibraryAudio Visual Materials

Our audio-visual collection is comprised of movies, audio books, music, and software for children of all ages. We have children’s feature films, family movies, educational, and documentary films. All children’s department movies circulate for one week free of charge. Audio books, music CD’s and software circulate for 2 weeks each. There is a limit of 15 audio-visual items per visit.

Downloadable Audio Books

Audio books for Children and Adults are now available to download.  A variety of children's titles, including 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' and 'The Chronicles of Narnia' are available.  Downloadable audio books are free and circulate for two weeks.  To learn more about this service and to start downloading books to your portable listening device visit our eAudio Catalog.

Toys

The Hingham Public Library Toy Collection is given in memory of Karen Ruth Bortnick; a wonderful little girl who knew the joys of discovery and loved for others to know them too. The collection includes over 60 toys appropriate for ages 1 to 12. Toys circulate for 2 weeks and cannot be placed on hold.

Magazines

We have magazines for children of all ages as well as parenting magazines and professional journals. Magazines, including the newest issue, circulate for 2 weeks.

Books

We have books for everyone! Fiction and non-fiction; infants to young adults; encyclopedias and best sellers! Books circulate for 2 weeks.

Museum Passes can be reserved online. Contact the reference department for more information.
