Women Painters Through the Ages2022-05-16T19:00:00Please join lecturer Martha Chiarchiaro as she illuminates fifteen women artists throughout history. In this presentation, we will explore the highlights of fifteen women painters over the past five centuries. As a sampling, we’ll view the Tudor court paintings of Levinia Teerlinc, the drama of Artemisia Gentileschi, the glamour of Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, the maternal paintings of Mary Cassatt, and the boldness of Georgia O’Keeffe. You’ll leave with a better understanding of the tremendous contribution made by women artists over the past five centuries.

Boston Classical Guitar Society Presents: The Hampton Trio2022-05-22T15:00:00The Hampton Trio (Beverly Davis, classical guitar; Mark Davis, mandolin; Robert Margo, mandola) performs original music and arrangements for ensemble of mandolin, mandola, and classical guitar. Inspired by the groundbreaking work of groups such as Trio Nuovo (Japan) and Trio Chamorro (Spain), the Hampton Trio’s goal is to popularize and add to the existing repertoire for this instrumentation. In addition to their trio repertoire of arrangements and original works from the baroque to modern eras, the group’s programs may include classical guitar duos by Mark and Beverly Davis, and mandolin solos by Robert Margo.
