So You Want To Be a Marine Animal Trainer or Veterinarian?

Monday, October 21, 2019

Calling all animal lovers! All teens invited to talk to Kimberly Cummings, a marine animal trainer, and Melissa Joblon, a veterinarian. Both work at the New England Aquarium. They will discuss their work and take questions from anyone interested in the field! No registration necessary.

Kimberly Cummings has worked in the animal training field for over 15 years. In her presentation she will share a little about her background, the reasons for animal training, the methods of training, and a day in the life of a trainer, as well as other related careers. She will also share how teens can get involved and how to start on an animal training career!

Melissa Joblon currently works as an associate veterinarian at the Aquarium and works with a wide range of species including invertebrates, fish, sharks, rays, penguins, seals, sea lions, and turtles. She is extremely interested in conservation research and investigating human effects on wild animal mammal health.
