The Life and Times of Saint Patrick with historian Sean Murphy

Wednesday, March 10, 2021

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day the Hingham Public Library is pleased to welcome historian and teacher Sean Murphy for a zoom presentation on The Life and Times of Saint Patrick.

Murphy provides insight into the events in Ireland and Europe that led Rome to send Patrick to Ireland to ensure that Christians accepted the leadership of the Roman Church and its teachings. Murphy will explore Patrick's initial arrival in Ireland as a youth and a slave, his escape, and his return twenty years later as Bishop.

Registration for this program has closed. If you had previously registered, you have been emailed the Zoom information.

Sean Murphy lives on Cape Cod and teaches Irish history, music and dance. He teaches at the Irish Cultural Center of New England in Canton, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, the Sons of Erin Cape Cod, the Cotuit Center for the Arts, and on Nantucket. He has spoken on Irish cultural and historic issues at libraries, and at private and community events around the state. He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin.
