Murphy provides insight into the events in Ireland and Europe that led Rome to send Patrick to Ireland to ensure that Christians accepted the leadership of the Roman Church and its teachings. Murphy will explore Patrick's initial arrival in Ireland as a youth and a slave, his escape, and his return twenty years later as Bishop.
