Beanstack is a library service that helps encourage reading, especially for children. Access it through the Hingham Library’s unique Beanstack website or download the Beanstack app (perfect for busy teens on the go) and search for Hingham. With Beanstack, teens can track their reading minutes and participate in related activities.
Signing up for an account is quick and easy. Get started here! If you have any questions, please contact the children’s & teen department at firstname.lastname@example.org or 781-741-1405.
At the heart of the Beanstack model are Challenges. Within a Challenge, teens can earn virtual Badges (a reading milestone) and participate in fun activities, as described within the badge. The summer 2020 reading challenges will be available from July 6 through August 31. At the end of the summer, teens will be entered into a raffle for assorted gift cards.
All reading is good reading, so whether you’re into graphic novels, audiobooks, fantasy adventure, or the classics, keep reading! The school year can be busy and full of required reading, so read what you enjoy this summer!
Imagine Your Story is sponsored by the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The Beanstack summer reading platform is made possible by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners with funding from the Institute of Museums and Library Services and with the assistance of the Massachusetts Library System.
