    February is Dental Health Month! Please join us for a special storytime with guest readers from Hingham Dental. Librarian Debbie will begin the storytime session with her books and then Marykate and Janine, dental hygienists, will read their stories and teach participants about caring for your teeth!

    Wiggle, rhyme, read, and sing in this active storytime! Simple stories and music introduce the sounds and rhythms of language and play to your little learner. This drop-in program is perfect for children 14 months to 3 years and their caregivers. Following the program, families are invited to socialize and play with the library’s collection of toys.

  4. Books for Babies | Ages 0 to 14 months

    Books, Bounces, and rhythmic activity ensure that this engaging Storytime for babies (0 to 14 months) and their caregivers is the perfect environment for building your baby’s foundation for lifelong reading. Babies will be introduced to familiar rhymes and songs as well as the opportunity to mingle with other babies and their caregivers.   5. Move & Groove Storytime | Ages 4 and under

    Move & Groove Storytime is a drop in program for children of various ages (4 and under) and their caregivers. Listen to fun stories, sing, and move around in this fast-paced Storytime perfect for young children who learn best when their brains and their bodies are active. Following the program, families are invited to socialize and play with the library’s collection of toys.

  6. Artist-in-Residence: Fly By Night Dancers

    February 29, 2020, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM @ Whiton Room

    Children ages 5-10 and their families are invited to join us to create the Fly By Night dance troupe during this unique and interactive dance series with our inaugural artists-in-residence, Nikki Hu and Guy Van Duser.

    The program will run two Saturdays a month from January-March culminating in a final performance on March 21. Participants are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible. Learn more.

  7. Read-to-a-Dog: Boo (a Shih Tzu) and his partner Toni, are our listeners today.

    Our Read to a Dog program provides a supportive environment to practice reading! Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence and self-esteem. Our canine friends are all wonderful, patient listeners who are looking forward to reading with you!

    The program takes place each Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30. Reading sessions last 15 minutes and are for children ages 5 and up. Please reserve a spot by calling the Children's Department at 781-741-1405 ext. 1403.
