    Libby is the latest app by Overdrive and makes borrowing library eBooks and audiobooks easy. This class will cover getting Libby setup on your smartphone, tablet, or computer; and demonstrate the new browsing features that make Libby a must-have app. Be sure to bring a device you would like to try Libby on! *Please note that currently, the Libby App is not yet supported on the Amazon Fire Tablet.

    Our Read to a Dog program provides a supportive environment to practice reading! Reading to trained therapy dogs helps develop literacy skills and builds confidence and self-esteem. Our canine friends are all wonderful, patient listeners who are looking forward to reading with you!

    The program takes place each Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30. Reading sessions last 15 minutes and are for children ages 5 and up. Please reserve a spot by calling the Children's Department at 781-741-1405 ext. 1403.

  2. Cartooning Workshop with Mat Brown

    November 9, 2019, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM @ Fearing/Trustees Conference Room

    Join former Building 19 cartoonist Mat Brown for a fun cartooning workshop! No need to be an artist, all levels are welcome as Mat will guide you through his work as a cartoonist and teach you how to do it yourself!

    Mat Brown is known for the crazy, cartoon-filled advertisements for the now-defunct Building #19 stores, but he has also created hundreds of editorial cartoons for The Quincy Patriot Ledger and The Cohasset and Scituate Mariners. Mat also taught math in Plymouth, Marshfield and Scituate Middle and High Schools for 19 years, and his cartooning assembly for 4th graders is a yearly feature at Hingham’s South Elementary School.
